Yes, it was done! Washed, blocked and dried. Tomorrow it will be one its way to the mother, and hopefully the baby will wait to come until his mom receives the blanket.
It is much bigger than stated in the pattern, which says 1m x 1m. It turns out big enough for probably both the baby and the mom. A perfect one to warm the shoulders and the little one for breast feedingsat night. I changed the needle size to 4 mm but otherwise followed the pattern carefully. There is another round of lace around the edges, but I dropped that because I was in short of time and I think it will make the blanket too girly for a boy.
I am pretty happy with the result, and hope the mom will love it.
The pattern is from Sandnes booklet, nr. 24. Tema 24 Babyteppe og hentesett, Sandnes. I had one pin size up to 4 mm, and omitted the last lace pattern around the edges. It "ate" 500 grams alpaca.
